MY EMERGENCE AS RECTOR

The Rector’s vision of collaborating with relevant agencies for growth was not limited to the staff and students of Federal Polytechnic Nekede, Owerri only but also extended to the general public. This is exemplified in the synergy between Dispensing Opticianry Registration Board of Nigeria (ODORBN). The Rector engaged all the facilities of the department of Dispensing Opticianry of the institution in partnership with the above board to aid her effort in reduction of quackery in the profession. The roadside practitioners were given a golden opportunity to have formal education and were formally inducted into the board after graduation with licenses to practice legally issued to them. Through this singular act, our Rector – Engr Dr Michael Chidiebere Arimanwa has disengaged the public from utilization of quack opticians and its inherent dangers.
