MY EMERGENCE AS RECTOR

Engr Dr Michael Chidiebere Arimanwa’s belief that administration is a continuum was displayed in his reviving a linkage that was made in 2015 between the CHARTERED INSTITUTE OF BANKERS OF NIGERIA (CIBN) and the FEDERAL POLYTECHNIC NEKEDE OWERRI by the immediate past Rector- Prof Mrs. CeleUgochi Njoku. In November 16, 2021 the Chartered Institute of Bankers of Nigeria (CIBN) led by Dr BayoOlugbemi performed a ground breaking ceremony of a legacy project by the institute tagged “THE BANKERS HALL” bequeathed to the Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri.

“BANKERS HALL” was built within the time frame of six months. Hence on the 5th day of May 2022, the opening ceremony of the building was performed by the Chairman of the Institute - Dr BayoOlugbemi and the Rector Engr Dr Michael Chidiebere. In attendance were Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodimma, the Executive Governor of Imo State who was ably represented by the Deputy Governor of the state-Prof Placid Njoku, the Federal Polytechnic Nekede Owerri Governing Council led by Ag.Chairman -Squadron Leader ChimaIChima, Eze Godwin Merenini – the Traditional Ruler of Umudibia Autonomous Community (host community), management, staff and students among other dignitaries.
